It may have been snowing today, but a couple of weeks ago we did have nice enough weather to go fishing. Our friends were visiting and we spent a few days out exploring and trying out some new fishing holes. I had the chance to snap a few photos out there too… I’ve submitted a couple to the National Geographic “Nature in Black and White” Your Shot challenge. You can find them of Flickr, but I’m sharing the color version on here. Reflections take on a different feel in color versus black and white. I’m not sure which I prefer, but I enjoyed the challenge to look at landscapes around me with a black and white eye.

This first shot is my favorite capture yet of my husband fly fishing. I’ve been photographing his cast for a year now, and this is the first time the entire line can be traced to the fly. See it against the concrete base of the bridge? That makes me so happy!
