unMonday: west seattle views

sunsets & skylines in west seattle

My camera isn’t really well-suited for night shots – it’s old enough that it lacks the modern noise reduction algorithms found in even the smaller photo enthusiast cameras.  Still, with a tripod and the post-processing noise reduction built into Lightroom 4, the old Canon 5D can still pull off some decent low-light photos.

These shots came from the portrait shoot I did in West Seattle this summer.

Photo gear and such:

  • Canon 5D
  • Canon 50mm f/1.4 (sunset photos)
  • Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS (night photos)
  • Remote shutter release
  • Cheapo plastic tripod
  • Lightroom 4
  • VSCO Film

  1. The shot of the ferry is amazing!
