unMonday: johnny sack cabin

This is another series of photos from my weekend in Island Park, Idaho. These are views inside the cabin at Big Springs, which was built by Johnny Sack. He started it in 1929, and did it all by hand without electric saws and tools… pretty impressive. Especially when you consider that he was only 4 feet 11 inches tall! The place was completed in 3 years, and his attention to detail in the woodwork was evident everywhere. I loved how he used split bark to trim his furniture, and how he used antlers or forked limbs to hold up his curtain rods.

I’m going to embrace Kyle’s bullet point method to cover the details behind these photos….

  • Camera: Canon 5D MarkIII
  • Lens: 50mm f/1.4
  • Processing: Lightroom 5 – VSCO film pack 04 – Kodak E200 Balance Cool
