unMonday: instagram black and white

Messing around with Instagram over the past few months has been proving more and more helpful in practicing photography.  It has been helping me focus on composition and lighting by removing control over things like zoom, shutter speed, aperture, and post-processing.  I’ve taken those restrictions further by imposing a small Instagram project on myself: shooting only in black and white for one week.  Not only did this allow me to concentrate more on composition and lighting, it has also helped me practice envisioning scenarios in black and white for my film photography.  I only wish I had a better camera on my phone, and that Instagram would allow you to save images at a higher resolution…
